KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - On Wednesday, more than 130 East Tennessee veterans will travel to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials built to honor their sacrifices.

The flight is thanks to HonorAir Knoxville, from Prestige Cleaners and Tuxedo. It will be making its 37th flight to the nation’s capital, and the public is invited to welcome veterans home Wednesday evening.

The veterans are scheduled to arrive back at McGhee Tyson Airport at around 7:40 p.m.

“When we return home and our veterans see all the flags, patriotic balloons and people lined up to welcome them, they are incredibly touched that people care about the sacrifices they made for their country,” HonorAir Chairman Eddie Mannis said.

Parking is available in Economy Lot C at the west end of the airport on Tyson Boulevard. Add
