– France officially recognized a sovereign Palestinian state at the United Nations, with President Emmanuel Macron delivering the news at the 80th U.N. General Assembly on Monday in New York, declaring it part of a broader two-state solution.
“I declare that today France recognizes the State of Palestine,” Macron told the chamber to a standing ovation from representatives of the territories’ biggest supporters.
