That Bruce Pearl is the greatest coach in Auburn basketball history is essentially beyond dispute, and he’s got a case for being the best in any of the Tigers’ “big three” men’s sports.
Now that he has retired at age 65 , we can say that what Pearl accomplished during his 11 seasons with the Tigers is astounding. He took what had historically been the worst- or second-worst program in the SEC (and was absolutely the worst in the league at the time that he was hired), and transformed it into one of the most successful in the country.
