After Joplin Little Theatre discovered structural issues with its historic building at 3009 W. First St., it was forced to move the production of “Grease” to Missouri Southern State University’s Taylor Auditorium.

Marilyn Bouldin, Joplin Little Theatre board member and “Grease” director, said that toward the beginning of summer, staff noticed a crack in a beam above the audience area of the theater. After taking a closer look, they discovered the crack was bigger than they realized, and they found a similar crack on the other side. ×
