GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It's been more than two years since someone gunned down Jontell White in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids Police said officers heard gunshots around 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 14, 2023. They quickly responded to the sound and found 30-year-old Jontell White dead near the Metro Grand Rapids bar on Division Avenue.

White was a father of two young girls, and GRPD Chief Eric Winstrom believes he was targeted.

Back in 2023, investigators said the suspect ran off when officers showed up. The person was wearing a black coat and black pants.

Still, detectives are hoping the community can give them some new leads to chase down.
