WASHINGTON, D.C. – Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday in the trial of Ryan Ruth, who is charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump last year.

Ruth rested his case after presenting his own defense and calling just three witnesses over a few hours.

Federal prosecutors concluded their case on Friday. They spent several days presenting witnesses who described what they claimed was Ruth's planned attack against Trump, who at the time was a presidential candidate.

Ruth has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
