BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Two people selected to be part of NASA’s newest class of astronauts have ties to our region.
Lauren Edgar is from the state of Washington, but earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
And Imelda Muller of New York earned a medical degree from the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine.
Only 10 people were selected out of 8,000 applicants for this year’s class.
They will go through two years of training before becoming flight-eligible astronauts for missions around Earth, the moon and eventually Mars.
