BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - NASA will launch three new spacecraft this week to map space weather and the sun’s influence across our solar system.

Outer space has its own weather and storms from the sun can harm satellites.

One spacecraft will take a look at solar storms and their effect on us here on Earth.

“There is a constant stream of energetic particles that are streaming off the sun, and they go out throughout the entire solar system. And when they reach the outermost edges, the solar wind slows down and protects us, protective shield that keeps out galactic cosmic rays from entering into our solar system, then into Earth’s atmosphere for protecting life here on Earth,” said Clinton Wallace of NOAA.
