TERRA ALTA, W.Va. (WBOY) — Terra Alta's town hall closed on Monday due to an exposure to narcotics, the town's mayor said.

In a post on Monday, the town announced that its town hall would be closed that day due to a "potential exposure." No details about the exposure were given at the time of the post, but Mayor Josh Dodge responded to it a few hours later, saying drugs were the culprit.

"Someone dropped off a lost wallet that contained what appeared to be narcotics," Mayor Dodge said. "The police are involved."

The mayor added that everyone "seems to be okay," but needed to be checked out due to the exposure. The mayor did not provide details as to what kind of drugs were involved, nor as to whether any charges have been filed.
