Ready to see who's better in the ring? Rockford area law enforcement and emergency services personnel are about to strap on their boxing gloves for charity.

The Rockford Hero Rumble will debut Nov. 1 at Hard Rock Live Rockford. Sanctioned by USA Boxing, the six-fight event will feature police officers and firefighters battling it out for community pride, boxing belts and a traveling trophy.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Carrie Lynn Children’s Center, a 501(c)(3) serving Boone and Winnebago counties children and families who have been victims of abuse.
