New York, New Delhi : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in New York today, during which they discussed bilateral and international issues of current concern.
In a post on X, the EAM said the two agreed on the importance of continued engagement for progress on priority areas.
He posted:
“Good to meet @SecRubio this morning in New York.
“Our conversation covered a range of bilateral and international issues of current concern. Agreed on the importance of sustained engagement to progress on priority
areas.
“We will remain in touch.”
The meeting between the two foreign ministers is the first in-person meeting after the Trump administration last month slapped 50 percent tariffs on India, including 25 percent for India’s purchase of Russian oil.
