GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) -- The Girard Multi-Generational Center is celebrating the completion of its gym roof replacement project.
Trumbull County Commissioners Rick Hernandez and Tony Bernard joined Girard Mayor Mark Zuppo, members of the center, and the county planning commission for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The center's administrative director, Laura Carey, says it was much needed.
The project included removing the previous roof, repairing damaged decking, plus new insulation and a TPO roof. The total cost was around $82,000, more than $65,000 of which was covered with Community Development Block Grant funding.
"It provides for a wonderful space for, you know, future activities for Girard Multi-Generational families," Hernandez said.
