The club is returning F Tommy Lafreniere to the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. They are also returning F David Lewandowski to the Saskatoon Blades. Article content Article content

LaFreniere was selected in Round 3 of this past spring draft, #823 overall. The right-hand shot from Hornby Island, B..C. has gone 24-32-56 in 68 GP for the Blazers in 2024-25. He enjoyed some good moments in Sunday’s split-squad game in Edmonton, including a sitter he could not quite bury. He had a shot, a hit and was -1 in 14:48. In the Prospects games in Rookie Camp, Lafreniere was quiet in Game One, but was highly noticeable in Game Two with a couple goals. He was rated the Oilers #14 Prospect in annual ranking.
