The University of Colorado Board of Regents has approved a $30 million line of credit for the Boulder campus that it can use for funding capital projects or other campus needs.

The $30 million approval is part of a routine process for approving lines of credit for the CU campuses, which has been in place at the university since 1993. The regents approved the line of credit at their regular board meeting on Thursday at the Anschutz Medical Campus.

“Campuses have these lines so they can take advantage of opportunities aligned with their campus needs like investments in infrastructure, equipment or other programmatic needs,” CU System spokesperson Michele Ames wrote in an email to the Daily Camera. “Any money drawn by a campus must be repaid to the Treasury like any other loan.”
