LONDON Ky. (WKYT) - A well-known businessman and constable in southern Kentucky has passed away.

Rick Yaden served in Laurel County and also owned a car lot.

He was in the automotive business by trade, but contributing to others was part of his pastime.

“I’ll always remember Rick as a giver. Just, anytime you needed something, Rick was always there,” said Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Rick Yaden died Sunday after officials say he suffered a medical emergency. He was 54. His absence leaves a big hole in the community.

“Just a good man. It was nothing to look up and see him at the sheriff’s office. Come in and bring a cake, a pie or just stop in to say ‘hello,’” said Sheriff Root.
