ROCHESTER — There will be a four-person race for mayor and many contested races for City Council and School Board in the city's 2025 election Nov. 4.

Rochester's election filing period closed Sept. 22, finalizing the candidates who will appear on the ballot.

Mayor Paul Callaghan announced he would not seek reelection. Looking to replace him are Matt Mayberry, CEO of New Hampshire Home Builders; Douglas Robbins; former city councilor Peter Lachapelle, and former Democratic state Rep. Chuck Grassie (also a former city councilor).

State Sen. James Gray, R-Rochester, who previously filed to run for mayor, dropped out before the deadline and will run for Police Commission instead. State Rep. Kelley Potenza, R-Rochester, also dropped out of the mayor's race.
