The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has served a warrant on a British Columbia ostrich farm where nearly 400 birds have been ordered culled, requiring the farmers to leave or risk being removed from the property.
Katie Pasitney, the spokeswoman for Universal Ostrich Farms, posted a video on Facebook of a man in a CFIA uniform telling her they have the authority to come on the property and no one can obstruct them from carrying out their duties.
The agency official says they expect to take "a couple days to set up" on the farm and that the owners could feed the birds but then must leave.
Pasitney is standing in a pen with the ostriches while the official relays the warrant on the other side of the fence, with the farm's supporters heard yelling in the background.
