A suspected gunman has been killed at an Amazon facility in the west Georgia city of Columbus, according to authorities.

The shooting happened early Monday morning at the Amazon facility on the city’s east side. No other deaths have been reported, and no other details were immediately released.

According to the Columbus Police Department, officers were called to respond to reports of an active shooter in the 5800 block of Osceola Court just after 4:45 a.m. The suspect allegedly fired multiple shots outside into the front of the Amazon building.

Officers confronted him a short distance away. A brief standoff took place after the suspect brandished a firearm. The incident ended when the suspect allegedly shot himself and died.
