Local leaders and community members gathered at Rotary Park on Thursday evening for an OLG Community Recognition Event, highlighting the impact of casino revenues on area programs.

More than $1.8 million was provided this year from Shorelines Casino Gananoque to support organizations and activities across the Town of Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.

MPP Steve Clark, MP Michael Barrett, TLTI Mayor Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Gananoque Mayor John Beddows, Kathleen Devine of OLG, and Dale Deane of Shorelines Casino were among the people in attendance.

Officials said the funds benefit residents of all ages, helping sustain programming and services throughout the region.
