Bruce Pearl made the surprising decision to retire as the head coach of the Auburn basketball program on Monday, leading to plenty of speculation about what is next for the 65-year-old.

Pearl is very active on X and often speaks out about political issues. He has also been mentioned as a potential candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in Alabama.

The Auburn basketball X account posted a video of Bruce Pearl sharing what he plans to do now that he is moving on from the basketball program on Monday.

Pearl revealed that he is not planning to get into politics.

“Auburn is our home. Brandy and I are staying right here,” Bruce Pearl said. “Many of you know that I thought and prayed about maybe running for United States Senate, maybe to be the next great senator from the state of Alabama.
