Jimmy Kimmel will return to TV as the host of his late-night show on Tuesday, marking an about-face by the Walt Disney Company after its indefinite suspension of the show last week , according to a Monday statement from the media company.

Disney, which owns ABC — the network on which “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs — pulled the show after the late-night show host made divisive comments about the suspect accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk and received intense backlash.

Among Kimmel’s detractors was Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr, who indicated that the FCC might seek to take away the licenses of TV stations that chose to air Kimmel’s show while speaking on a podcast.
