Monchi will leave his role as president of football operations at Aston Villa, talkSPORT understands.

The Spaniard will depart just two years after he joined from Sevilla as Villa begin to feel the effects of a difficult summer transfer window.

His exit also comes amid a dreadful start to the 2025/26 season.
