FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is denying having ever threatened Jimmy Kimmel Live! as the show officially returns to ABC. The series was "indefinitely" pulled from the air following controversial comments that Jimmy Kimmel made about the death of Charlie Kirk and how it has been politicized.

Before the show was taken off the air, Carr told ABC and its stations that "we can do this the easy way, or the hard way" and that "companies can find ways to change conduct, to take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
