HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An intense fire damaged a historic train depot in Horry County Monday morning.

The Conway Fire Department was dispatched around 4:15 a.m. to the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Depot on Highway 905.

When crews arrived, they found the building on fire and called the Horry County Fire Rescue for additional resources.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

The property has been owned by the Pippin family since 1995.

“The alarm, the fact that they called me about 3:45 a.m. I think that the alarm was going off in the front part of the building,” said Ken Pippin. “Sometimes we’ll have an alarm or an animal may have set it off, but never in the front, so that was pretty scary.”
