Alberta’s education minister has been tasked with creating a pathway for those with a university degree, diploma or trade certifications to become teachers — without needing to earn a full teaching degree.
“First and foremost, we want to help create a broader pool of individuals that can be sourced as teachers,” Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides said in responding to the directive in his new mandate letter from Premier Danielle Smith.
