PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) -- Lawmakers are gathering at the South Dakota Capitol for their special legislative session on Tuesday, when they'll vote on whether to approve and fund a new 1,500-bed men's prison in Sioux Falls at a cost of no more than $650 million.

2022: Lawmakers create prison fund

Governor Kristi Noem announces the appointment of Kellie Wasko as state secretary of corrections on February 16.
