A man was airlifted to a hospital after being seriously injured in a two-car crash in Somers on Sunday which left one other person injured.
The crash occurred on Route 190 East just before 2:15 p.m. as one driver tried to pass another, according to Connecticut State Police .
A preliminary investigation found that a 70-year-old Somers man was heading east in a 2016 Hyundai Elantra when he put on his blinker to turn left into his residence, state police said. A 27-year-old Windsor man, allegedly driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler at a “high rate of speed” behind the Elantra, then tried passing the Hyundai on the left and the two vehicles collided, according to state police.
