A Toledo fire captain who was ordered to receive counseling and additional training last year for violating department rules has filed a discrimination complaint against the city and nine individuals.
The lawsuit Richard Mitchell, lawyer for fire Capt. Komako Goolsby, filed Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court seeks compensatory and punitive damages both exceeding $25,000 for each defendant, including Assistant Chief John Kaminski, Battalion Chiefs Sharyl Close and Michael Romstadt,, and six other named individuals as well as the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department itself.
