Police asked for the public’s help Monday in identifying the driver of a flatbed semi-truck involved in a hit-and-run crash near the Vernon neighborhood of Los Angeles that left a man hospitalized with severe injuries.

The collision occurred about 9:05 p.m. June 9 on Washington Boulevard, when the truck struck a man in his 30s who was walking north across the street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver did not stop and continued east toward Soto Street, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the victim to a hospital in critical condition, police said. His exact injuries were not disclosed.
