LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Monday, President Donald Trump addressed claims about a link between autism and the use of acetaminophen, like Tylenol, during pregnancy.
So we took those claims to the experts.
"Everything I know is that there is no connection between any pain medication and autism," shared Dr. Sabine Falls, a clinical psychologist at Pediatrics Plus.
For over thirty years, she has assessed autism and explained that there is no single known cause.
"In general, we really don't know," Dr. Falls said. "We know with autism that there are certain factors that increase the likelihood, one of which being that it runs in families. So it seems to have a genetic component. It's also that there are certain genetic changes that we can see."
