With most fall high school sports seasons at least approaching their midway points, local athletes and teams are starting to shift gears toward peaking for the postseason.

Bailey was a force in the Rough Riders’ dramatic 3-2 win against this past year’s Class 4A state champion, Thompson Valley, on Thursday in Johnstown. She had team-highs of 26 kills, two blocks and six aces to go with 17 digs and 14 assists. It was Roosevelt’s fourth consecutive win, as it improved to 6-2 overall, 5-1 in 4A/5A Longs Peak play.
