A ‘hold and secure’ at a Hanover High School was lifted quickly Monday after police responded to an occurrence.

Hanover police Chief Chris Knoll tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, on Monday at about 12:30 in the afternoon, over the lunch hour, they received a number of reports about a male swinging a 2X4 piece of lumber on the grounds of John Deifenbaker Senior School.

As a result, there was a ‘hold and secure’ at the school. The Bluewater District School Board says it was a precaution, not a full lockdown, but a hold and secure which allows for most business in the school to continue as usual. The Board says it was lifted shortly afterwards, and that parents and guardians were notified.
