LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Deputies with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office are finding new ways to prevent prisoners from smuggling in drugs, especially one that has managed to elude them.
Deputies say they’re focused on one in particular that can either make inmates zonk out — or flip out and go completely ballistic.
The drug is made from something that most people have right inside our homes.
Now officers are fighting back - by using both technology and dogged determination.
According to corrections officers, some prisoners will do just about anything to get high, like having a friend use a drone to deliver them drugs.
“Inmates are very creative,” said Inspector Ryan Kolegar with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
