B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad survived his leadership review and plans to stay on as party head.
“I believe the members have given me a mandate to lead and I believe British Columbians are hungry for an unapologetic common sense Conservative government," Rustad said. "We will make it happen."
The review asked rank and file party members to vote on whether they supported Rustad's leadership. This process went for several months, as members voted riding-by-riding.
Rustad received an affirmative vote from 70.66 per cent of party members.
If he had failed to get more than 50 per cent of the votes, a leadership election would have been triggered, according to party bylaws.
