ASCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Two employees in Ascension Parish allegedly misused public funds, according to an audit report.

The report states that in one case, a worker used a parish vehicle for personal reasons and incurred a suspected $8,765.

The second worker asked for drainage improvements costing an estimated $21,765 to be made to a private property owned by a relative, the audit report said. It added that while the worker’s request had previously been denied, it was made again while the director of public works was out for medical reasons.

The audit report said that both workers were fired from their positions.
