(WJW) - A portion of the Ohio Turnpike is shut down after a "traffic incident" on the west side, officials announced on Monday evening.

According to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, as of 7 p.m., the Turnpike is closed in both directions at milepost 153 in Lorain County while road crews clean up the scene.

The Ohio Department of Transportation shows a Turnpike closure from North Royalton to North Ridgeville.

Drivers heading westbound are urged to take the exit at Toll Plaza 161 (Strongsville-Cleveland). To get back on the Turnpike, drivers should take I-71 north to I-480 west to Toll Plaza 151 (N. Ridgeville-Cleveland).
