The National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation will host a candlelight vigil from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Vancouver’s Esther Short Park to honor victims of homicide and violence.
The free, public event aims to commemorate homicide victims and surviving family members on the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, which is observed annually Sept. 25. It will also highlight the work of organizations that provide services, including support, advocacy and counseling for families, individuals and communities coping with homicide-related deaths.
Co-sponsored by Odyssey World International Education Services and Emergency Support Shelter, the event will feature musical performances and guest speakers, including Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle; Vancouver Police Ch
