AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The driver who was killed in a wrong-way crash in north Austin on Sept. 18 has been identified as 23-year-old Victor Lamar Evans II, according to the Austin Police Department.
Austin Police said around 2:16 a.m., officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash that involved an 18-wheeler in the 12300 block of northbound I-35, near Parmer Lane.
According to APD, a sedan was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and collided with an 18-wheeler and another sedan. APD said the wrong-way driver, Evans II, died at the scene.
This incident marks Austin’s 73rd fatal crash, resulting in 76 fatalities in 2025.
