LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- We're saying goodbye to our morning news anchor Leslie Sykes , who is retiring after more than three decades at ABC7.
Interviews with Leslie's sister and colleagues are part of the celebration that will air during Tuesday morning's newscasts, beginning at 4 a.m., as we bid farewell to a beloved L.A. icon.
Asked by fellow ABC7 news anchor Jovana Lara how she's feeling about retirement, Leslie replied: "Well, I feel great. I guess it is bittersweet because I've known everybody here -- this has been so familiar, with all my friends and everything.
"It's fun to come in and talk about the stories of the day and chop it up with everybody and gossip," Leslie said. "It's a fascinating career. There's never a dull moment."
