LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Workers from the Culinary Union, alongside Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., spoke against President Donald Trump’s economic policies Monday, while representatives from the administration touted success in curbing inflation and raising real wages.
During a Monday news conference, members of the union said policy changes, including those regarding tariffs and immigration, had adversely affected tourism in Las Vegas.
“Tourism has gone down because we see fewer people coming from Mexico, coming from Canada, and coming from other countries,” said Yolanda Garcia, a member of Culinary Union Local 226, who added that fears of immigration raids have kept Las Vegas locals from injecting money into the local economy.
In response, the Trump administration cited billions o
