New six-coach train to shorten intervals and ease peak-hour congestion
RV Road–Bommasandra Metro stretch on the Yellow Line is set to get relief from crowding as the fifth six-coach train will be added to the service by mid-October. With this, the waiting time between trains will be reduced from the current 19 minutes to just 15 minutes, significantly easing congestion during peak hours.
The new six-coach train, manufactured by Titagarh Rail Systems , has been dispatched and will be handed over to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited ( BMRCL ) by the end of this month. Following inspections and trial runs at the Hebbagodi depot, the train is expected to begin commercial service in mid-October. Currently, four trains operate on the 19.15 km Yellow Line.
