SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Legoland California has released a first look at its new indoor roller coaster ahead of its 2026 opening.

The new space-themed indoor roller coaster -- Galacticoaster -- will launch families in a custom Lego brick spacecraft through cosmic scenes of the LEGO galaxy inside a 30,000 square-foot building in Legoland's Fun Town.

The coaster has been under construction for more than a year by a crew of over 500 builders from around the world. Video released by Legoland on Monday (above) shows some of the nearly 1,500 feet of track being installed.

The park's first roller coaster in more than 20 years and first-ever indoor roller coaster is set to open inside a new, immersive space-themed land in early 2026. An exact opening date has not yet been announced.
