PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Provo City's Parks and Recreation has been recognized as one of the 'Best of the Best' departments nationally.

On September 17, the "Best of the Best" ceremony was held in Orlando, Florida, where different Parks and Recreation departments were celebrated for their achievements. Provo City's department was recognized in that ceremony and received national accreditation for the second time.

National accreditation is granted by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), which examines park departments' standards and achievements in public service, planning, and facility management.

Fewer than 2% of all park and recreation agencies nationwide receive this accreditation, and Provo also received this distinction in 2020.
