FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man is dead after trying to cross a busy Fresno roadway Monday afternoon.

Around 5:10 p.m., dispatch received a call that a man had been hit by a vehicle while trying to cross Clovis Avenue near Inyo Street. On scene, police found a witness performing CPR, but despite their best efforts, the man died.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with officials.

The intersection of Clovis and Tulare avenues will be closed until at least 7:15 p.m.
