“The Voice” has introduced a brand new power, and it has nothing to do with the coaches.

For the first time ever, host Carson Daly has some say in the competition. During the Monday, Sept. 22, season 28 premiere, Daly introduced the Carson Callback Card, which allows him to give one contestant another chance during the blind auditions.

Just as I was getting frustrated with coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg for passing on Ryan Mitchell and his rendition of Cage the Elephant’s “Cigarette Daydream,” Daly approached him backstage.
