LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a hit and run that happened Monday night.
The sheriff’s office says it happened on the 3100 block of Hugh E. Hardy Road in LaGrange when an SUV hit a pedestrian and then fled the scene.
The sheriff’s office says the victim was airlifted to an area hospital. There is no update on the person’s condition.
The sheriff’s office did provide the following picture of the person they say is the suspect:
Witnesses reported the suspect was driving an older model white Ford Explorer, last seen traveling east on Bryan Hardy Road.
Authorities are actively investigating and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved.
