A 36-year-old felon was charged Monday with sexually assaulting an unconscious woman described by police as an acquaintance in Anaheim.

John Nathan Yniguez was charged with sexual penetration of an unconscious victim, oral copulation of an unconscious person and assault with intent to commit a sex offense, all felonies. Yniguez did not enter a plea at his arraignment Monday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and the hearing was rescheduled for Oct. 14 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

Yniguez was accused of committing the sexual assault on May 31, police said.

Yniguez pleaded guilty in August 2023 to assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, both felonies.
