GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Greenville City Council voted on the first reading of the annexation of Greenlink’s property into the city on Monday.
Greenlink asked for the property to be annexed into Greenville and rezoned from residential to civic. The annexation would allow their employees, who are employed by the city, to have the benefits of being in the city such as faster police and fire responses.
City council approved the first reading of the annexation, but leaders said a new facility will take a few years to construct.
The council also unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance to accept and appropriate nearly $80,000 for the construction of a new inclusive playground in Cleveland Park.
