A barricaded suspect died after a fire at a North Side home, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 3700 block of Chartwell Drive.

SAFD said a barricaded suspect was inside the home as firefighters worked on the fire. Around 9:35 p.m., SAFD confirmed the barricaded suspect was found dead inside.

Photos at the scene show the house engulfed in flames.

The cause of the fire is unclear. KSAT has reached out to the San Antonio Police Department for more information.
