SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after "makeshift" spike strips used to deflate tires were found on roads in South Huntingdon Township.

Officials said in a release that pieces of wood with nails sticking out of them were found around 7:30 p.m. along Route 981 and Mendon Road on Sunday. Advertisement

Officials said they were painted black and formed into a strip to blend in with the road.

State police are investigating.

The incident comes just over a month after small spiked caltrops were scattered in the area of First Avenue and Brackenridge Avenue in Brackenridge.
